Briar Shaw

After graduating from the University of Alberta in 2002, Briar Shaw began practicing as an occupational therapist in Northern Alberta. As a sole charge clinician covering a large and remote area, she gained experience within a variety of practice settings. In 2013 Briar joined JR Rehabilitation and established a practice in Nanaimo. With her excellent customer service and strong clinical skills, the team began to grow.

Briar is now the Manager of Clinical Services for JR Rehabilitation. She is involved in managing a dynamic and expanding group of occupational therapists and kinesiologists across the lower mainland and Vancouver Island. Briar’s expertise can be seen in her relationship building, provision of evidence-based treatment, and the drive to meet the diverse health care needs of her clients. Briar has a passion for the mentorship of new clinicians, and she demonstrates the ability to build their confidence within the challenges of community care.

During her time on Vancouver Island, Briar has developed a joy of mountain biking. You can find her on the trails with her husband and three daughters.
